ACI's Commitment to our Members

Following our submission, the Oireachtas Health Committee met on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, to discuss the proposed CORU Standards. Representatives from two other accrediting bodies attended, along with CORU’s CEO and Chairperson. ACI was not present.

Once we became aware of the meeting, we contacted the Joint Committee on Health to request an invitation. The Committee invited us to submit a letter to their Chair, Deputy Pádraig Rice. ACI’s Chairperson, Dr. James O’Shea, subsequently wrote to Deputy Rice to express our disappointment at not being given the opportunity to appear. The letter also enclosed a copy of ACI’s response to the CORU Standards and requested a separate meeting.

We remain committed to keeping our members informed on developments in this important area and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
