Inactive Membership

Inactive membership applies to Accredited Members who have temporarily ceased active engagement in their chosen area within the field of addiction. Members can remain inactive for up to two years without it affecting their accreditation status. 

This category is best suited to members who are taking time out from their work due to such factors as maternity leave, or medical reasons.

  • Members must declare their inactive satus on their annual renewal form
  • To re-activate membership, members need to engage in client work and have three Clinical Supervision sessions with a Clinical Supervisor accredited by the ACI, and also comply with CPD requirements where possible

How to Apply

Apply online or download and return to the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland's office via email or post. Please note, as part of your application you must also download the Supervisor Report, see below, and forward to your Clinical Supervisor for completion.
