Inactive Accredited Membership

Inactive Accredited Membership with the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland applies to Accredited Members, who, for the time being, have ceased to be actively engaged in their selected area. Inactive Membership is only available to Accredited Members who have held full accreditation for at least five years. Inactive members of ACI cannot offer counselling to clients.

This category is best suited to members who are taking time out from their work, examples could be for medical reasons, or maternity leave.

Requirements

  • Inactive Membership is only available to Accredited Members who have held full accreditation for at least five years
  • Excluding exceptional circumstances, members can remain inactive for up to two years without it affecting their accreditation status
  • Members must declare their inactive status on their annual registration form
  • Members who wish to re-activate full membership status need to engage in client work and have 3 Clinical Supervision sessions with a Clinical Supervisor accredited by the Addiction Counsellors of Ireland CLG and comply with C.P.D. requirements
